Bord Bainistíochta Nua/ New Board of Management
Fuair mé dhá ainmneacha don ról mar Ionadaí Tuismitheora ar Bhord Bainistíochta na scoile nua a bheidh ag tosú ar an 1 Nollaig. Beidh Sarah-Jane Carey agus Proinsias Mac Risteard ag líonadh an dá áit sin. Is obair dheonach í seo agus ba mhaith liom mo bhuíochas a ghabháil leo as ucht an post seo a dhéanamh ar son na scoile.
We have received two names for the Parent’s Representatives on the new Board of Management which commences on the 1st of December. Sarah-Jayne Carey and Proinnsias Mac Risteard will be the Parent’s Representatives on the Board of Management. Members of the Board of Management work on a voluntary basis and I would like to thank them for taking on these positions for the good of the school.

Our thanks to Cairde for purchasing more books for our libraries and Irish books for the learning support rooms also. I would like to thank Cairde for organising the school diaries again this year, which involves a huge amount of work and organisation.

A Christmas Wish
Beidh seó ar siúl san Áras darb ainm, ‘A Christmas Wish’ ar an 6 Nollaig agus beidh Ranganna na Naíonán Beag – Rang a 4 ag dul ann. Tá costas €7 an pháiste ar an seó ach ní bheidh aon chostas ar an mbus. Seol isteach an t-airgead roimh an 11 Samhain.
A Christmas show entitled ‘A Christmas Wish’ take place in the Áras on December 6th. Junior Infants – 4th Class will be attending the show. The show costs €7 per child and luckily no buses will be required! Please send in the money before the 11th of November.

Can you please ensure that an absence note is signed by you when your child is absent from school. If you wish to speak to your child’s teacher, please come to the office or send in a note to the class teacher to arrange a suitable time. It is imperative that people do not go directly to the classroom as this disrupts class work.

There is a lot of talking the media regarding social network sites at the moment. There is no doubt that this medium of communication is extremely important and beneficial, however it is extremely important to keep an eye on everything that children are looking at on the web and that everything they write and what is written by others is supervised for the protection of the children. Social networking websites used by the children include Facebook, Bebo and Moshi Monsters.

Congratulations to all the children who sang at the Irish mass last Sunday in the Youth Choir. The children were so well behaved as always and we are very proud of them. Our thanks to Máire Uí Bhroin who is in charge of the group.

The Gaelic football leagues have now finished. Congratulations to all those who have taken part. Múinteoir Donncha will have further information regarding training etc. Thanks to Múinteoir Donncha who has put in so much extra work preparing the teams and to Múinteoir Pól for all his work and support also.
Beidh na páistí ag gléasadh suas d’Oíche Shamhna ar an Aoine an 28 Deireadh Fómhair ar son Ospidéal na bPáistí, Sráid Teampall. Iarraimid ar gach páiste teacht ar scoil gléasta cheana féin agus €2 a thabhairt isteach ar an lá más féidir. Ní bheidh aon rang snámha ann ar an lá sin do ranganna a Trí agus Ceathair.
We will be having a Fancy Dress day for Halloween on Friday the 28th of October in aid of Temple Street Children’s Hospital. We ask that the children come to school already dressed up and to bring €2 if possible in on the day. There will be no swimming class for 3rd and 6th classes on that day.

We will be collecting bags of clothes in aid of St. Luke’s Hospital, Dublin and Gaelscoil na Camóige in the school on Friday 21st October.
Every family will receive one bag and these can be left back to the school on Friday morning 21st before 9.30am. Please do not leave bags back in the school before this date.
The school will receive €1.50 per bag and St. Luke’s Hospital will also receive €1.50 per bag.
