Fógairtí | Buíochas a ghlacadh le gach duine atá i láthair do sheisiún deireanach an Bhord seo. Thanks to all Board Members of the outgoing Board for all their voluntary work for the school. Paidir ghairid a ghuí ar son Niamh Nic Risteard, páiste scoile atá an-tinn faoi láthair. The meeting was started with a prayer for Niamh Nic Risteard, a child in our school who is ill. Ghlac an tAthair De Bhál buíochas le gach duine a thóg páirt sa chór in Aifreann maidin Domhnach. Cairde Ionadaithe Tuismitheora | Tá Hazel Báicéir ag fanacht mar Chathaoirleach Cairde. Tá Jennifer Ní hAnluain mar Leas-Chathaoirleach. Hazel Baker is staying on as Chairperson of Cairde. Jennifer Ní hAnluain is the new Vice-Chairperson. Glacadh buíochas le Cairde as ucht leabhair leabharlainne a cheannach dúinn. We thanked Cairde for the purchasing of all the library books and learning support books for the school. Fuaireadh dhá ainmniúcháin mar Ionadaí Tuistí nua don Bhord Bainistíochta Nua, Sarah-Jayne Carey agus Prionnsias Mac Risteard. Two names were put forward for the Parent’s Representative on the BOM. Sarah-Jayne Carey and Proinnsias Mac Risteard will be the Parent’s Representatives on the new BOM. | Buíochas a ghlacadh le Gwen a d’éirigh as a post mar Leas-Chathaoirleach ar Chairde. Thanks to Gwen Kenny, who has stepped down as Vice-Chairperson for all her hard work as Vice-Chair of Chair. Thanks also to Tanya Alt, the Secretary of Cairde. Moltar go mbeadh sé go deas go mbeadh tráth na gceist nó rud éigin mar sin eagraithe chun airgead a bhailiú i mbliana. Beidh Cairde ag déanamh an féilire agus tá siad ag smaoineamh faoi féile na Nollag a dhéanamh arís. B’fhéidir go leor é sin agus go mbeadh Oíche Sóisialta go deas am éigin tar éis an Nollaig. It was suggested that a table quiz might be nice sometime after Christmas this year. Hazel said that Cairde are intending to do the calendars and the Christmas Fair this year should hopefully make plenty of money for the school this year. Rince & Spóirt | Beidh téarma amháin rince ag gach páiste le Jim Monaghan. Beidh téarma eile acu le ‘Tura’ fear rince a bhí againn don tseachtain ealaíon. Beidh snámh ag na paistí don tríú téarma. The children will have one term of dancing with Jim Monaghan this year (two terms for the Infants). Next term they will have Tura, who did dancing with the children during Art’s Week last year. The children will also have one term of swimming. | C | |
An Féar | Tháinig litir ó Willie Kennedy i leith fás an fhéir. Measann sé gur cheart go mbeadh muid in ann siúl ar an bhféar faoi cheann cúpla seachtain. Willie Kennedy sent us a report on the development of the grass. The exceptionally poor weather conditions over the summer greatly effected the grass growth. The grass has greatly improves and he hopes that we will be able to walk on the grass in a few weeks. | ||
An Coimeádán Stórála | Tá seans go bhfuil coimeádán faighte againn do shuíomh na scoile. We are hopeful that We hope to get a large storage container for free for the school. Ag ullmhú don Gheimhreadh | Tá Polasaí Dúnadh Éigeandála againn chun cabhrú linn ullmhú don Gheimhreadh. Tá sluasaid agus salann ordaithe againn. We have an Emergency Closures Policy in place in preparation for the winter. We have snow shovels and salt ordered for the school. | Ba cheart dúinn duine a fháil chun na píopaí a chlúdach níos mó más féidir chun a bheith cinnte go bhfuil gach rud déanta roimh an droch aimsir. We are organising to get someone into the school to increase the insulation on the pipes if possible to ensure that we are fully prepared for any bad weather. | Sarah-Jayne |
Muintir Áras Chrónán | Bhí Caoimhe ag labhairt le Brian faoin gclaí, faoin gcrann agus an díog in aice na scoile atá fadhbanna sláinte agus sábháilteacht leo roimh an tsamhraidh. Tá feabhas tagtha ar na rudaí seo anois agus an droch-chrann imithe. Ár mbuíochas le Muintir Chrónáin as ucht é sin a eagrú. Caoimhe was speaking to Brian before the summer holidays in relation to the fence, the tree and the ditch outside the school for health and safety reasons. The Áras did great work during the summer. The large tree behind the school has been removed and we have a lovely new fence. Our thanks to the Áras for taking care of these issues. | ||

Saoire Máithreachas | Beidh Sharon agus Aoife ag dul amach ar saoire máithreachas roimh mí na Nollag. Beidh ionadaí eagraithe dóibh. Guímid gach rath orthu. Múinteoirí Sharon will be going on maternity leave before Christmas and Aoife will be going out after Christmas. Substitutes will be organised for them. We wish them the best of luck. | Caoimhe | |
Measúnú Riosca | Rinne Caoimhe agus Barra measúnú riosca sa scoil. Socraíodh go leor rudaí beaga a bhí briste. Caoimhe and Barra have carried out a risk assessment of the school. No major issues arose. Any small repairs required will be fixed. | Moladh go gcuirfí ráillí nó claí ar chúl seomraí rang a 3 & 4. D’fhógair Caoimhe sa Nuachtlitir é chun fáil amach an mebadh aon rud ag aon duine sa bhaile. It was suggested that a barrier of some sort could be put up behind 3rd and 4th Class to prevent the children from going behind the building. Suíomh Idirlíon na Scoile | Achoimre a thaifeadaigí ar leabhair atá léite ag na páistí ionas go mbeidh sé mar eolas do pháistí eile. It was suggested that the computers could be integrated into our literacy programme by recording the children carrying out book reviews. The school is always looking into any incentives to encourage children to read more. | D’aontaigh gach duine gur smaoineamh maith a bhí ann agus gur cheart an scéal a fhiosrú.
