Gaelscoil na Camóige is a continually developing school and nowhere more so than in the area of our curriculum. We frequently undertake new projects that help to keep the children’s interest in an ever-changing curriculum. All subjects on the National Curriculum for Primary Schools are taught in the school (Irish, English, Mathematics, Religious Education, Science, History, Geography, Music, Art, Drama, SPHE and Physical Education). We constantly look for new and improved ways in which to teach the curriculum to the children.
There are lots of extra activities that take place inside and outside of school hours. In 2008 we started French with 5th and 6th Class as part of the ‘Modern Languages in Primary Schools’ scheme. Fiddle and guitar classes also take place after school and there is also a Homework Club available. We have a set of thirty laptops available for the classes and we are promoting IT throughout the school.
We have been awarded several Green Flag Awards in recognition of the effort made within our school to improve our environment. The flag flies proudly in the school yard.
